Event Overview
The ASSOCHAM Real Estate Conference 2025 in New Delhi provided powerful insights into India's housing landscape, focusing on streamlining approvals, integrating infrastructure with real estate, and scaling financing for sustainable growth.
During the inaugural session, Gaurav Kumar, Managing Director, Capital Markets & Land, CBRE India, delivered a special address emphasizing the critical role of land availability, efficient urban transportation, and capital in driving affordable housing and infrastructure development.
The inaugural session also featured perspectives from key government and public policy figures, including Dr. Shailesh Agrawal, Gurjeet Singh Dhillon, Ms. Anna Roy, and Durga Shankar Mishra, alongside prominent Indian real estate leaders, enriching the dialogue with practical insights.
A highlight of the event was the launch of "The New Paradigm in Indian Housing," a joint ASSOCHAM-CBRE Knowledge Report, spotlighting 10 key trends from rent-to-EMI gaps to the formalization of rental housing.
Gaurav Kumar further moderated a session on "Accelerating Housing Sector Growth," exploring themes like leveraging technology for approvals, uniform RERA implementation, co-living/senior housing models, and expanding blended finance.
Additionally, Rami Kaushal, Managing Director, Consulting & Valuation Services, India, Middle East & Africa, CBRE, led a session on "Scaling Sustainable Growth through Institutional Capital and Regulatory Reform," highlighting opportunities in housing finance, REIT frameworks, and broadened access to capital.
