CBRE participated as the Knowledge Partner at the ASSOCHAM National Tourism Conclave 2026 in Delhi, held under the theme "Tourism as an Economic Engine: Technology, Policy, Investment & Global Partnerships." The conclave brought together senior government representatives, industry leaders, investors, and tourism stakeholders to discuss the opportunities, investments, and policy interventions required to unlock the next phase of growth in India's tourism sector.

The event focused on the growing role of tourism as a driver of economic development, employment generation, regional growth, and infrastructure creation. Discussions explored the importance of technology adoption, destination development, public-private partnerships, connectivity enhancements, and investment-led growth in strengthening India's tourism ecosystem and global competitiveness.

The conclave also marked the launch of CBRE's latest report, Reimagining Indian Tourism: Unlocking the Next Wave of Growth, which examines the opportunities, structural enablers, and investment priorities that can help position tourism as a major contributor to India's long-term economic growth.

Hon'ble Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Government of India, shared perspectives on the sector's increasing contribution to economic growth and highlighted the importance of infrastructure development, technology adoption, private capital, and collaborative partnerships in accelerating tourism-led progress. Dr Arvind Kumar Sharma, Hon'ble Minister for Co-operation, Jails, Elections, Heritage & Tourism, Government of Haryana, also discussed opportunities to strengthen tourism development through greater investment and public-private collaboration.

Representing CBRE, Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO, India, Southeast Asia, Middle East & Africa, highlighted the significant opportunity for tourism to become a stronger catalyst for India's economic growth. He underscored the importance of continued investment in infrastructure, technology, destination development, cleanliness, and safety to create a seamless and globally competitive visitor experience.

CBRE leaders further contributed to the dialogue through a series of panel discussions examining the key drivers of tourism growth. Tejinder Gupta, Executive Director, Consulting & Valuation, moderated a session on tourism as an economic growth engine, exploring the investments, infrastructure, and policy measures needed to support India's long-term tourism aspirations. Preetham Mehra, Senior Executive Director, participated in a discussion on India's potential to emerge as a global tourism powerhouse through stronger destination branding, international partnerships, and enhanced connectivity. Vamshi KK Nakirekanti, Head - Valuations (India) and Head - Consulting & Valuation, Southeast Asia, moderated a session on tourism investment, focusing on the factors required to unlock capital across destinations, hospitality assets, and tourism infrastructure.

The discussions reinforced the importance of a coordinated approach involving government, industry, investors, and local communities to unlock India's tourism potential. The conclave highlighted how infrastructure development, technology, policy support, destination-led planning, and investment can collectively strengthen India's position as a leading global tourism destination while driving sustainable economic growth.
