Global capability centres (GCCs) have been integral to India’s technology success story, serving as captive hubs that manage global functions for companies ranging from analytics & technology support to product development & innovation.
From a real estate perspective, GCCs in India have become a critical driver of office demand and a large part of office occupiers. They often lead in adapting, innovating and establishing a precedence for other occupiers to follow.
India’s GCC leasing from 2022 to H1 2023 stands at ~29 mn sq. ft. Bangalore is at the forefront of leasing, followed by Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune where the GCCs are expanding aggressively owing to the edge India offers over other countries.
