The inaugural day of Kerala Statecon 2025 saw intense discussions on sustainable development and the construction sector's role in building a "New Kerala." Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized minimizing the industry's carbon footprint and addressing rising material costs. Ram Chandnani, Managing Director, Leasing, CBRE India, highlighted the importance of world-class infrastructure and skills development. The report "Kerala’s Ascent: The Pulse of India’s Progress" was unveiled, focusing on real estate growth opportunities. Romil Dubey, Head - Leasing - Hyderabad, Chennai & Kerala, CBRE India, showcased Kerala's significant economic impact and differentiators like IT hubs and sustainability. Vikram Vidyala, Senior Executive Director, Project Management, CBRE India, moderated a panel on managing construction costs. Finally, Alok Kumar Puri, MRICS Exec Director, CBRE India, explored the potential of rental accommodation and innovative housing models.
