We had the opportunity, as knowledge partners, to co-host Confederation of Indian Industry's 11th Regional Conference on Infrastructure #ProjectManagement.
The theme of this year’s virtual conference was “Ctrl+Alt+Del…Rebooting to 2021”. With reopening and multiple unlocks announced, India is returning to the ‘new normal’. This new normal is likely to involve restarting, reimagining, and reengineering our personal and professional lives. As employees, contractors and laborer prepare to return to work on
sites and offices that were previously shut, they are expected to see workspaces drastically changed by the economic effects of the pandemic.
There is an immediate need across projects in India to adapt to the ‘New Normal’ by making fundamental changes to the ways of working. Businesses are looking at continuity plans keeping in mind the increasing demand to minimize the impact of cost and time while integrating health and safety requirements at project sites.
We anticipate that the construction sector and related project management services would need to evolve to cater to all stakeholders as we move towards the new normal. At the same time, they would have to balance out employee performance and health, while remaining productive and financially viable. To achieve this, corporates may have to augment their digital collaboration capabilities, automate low value-added activities and derive data-driven insights for decision making.
